I started my career within the Automotive industry and have worked within both Sales and Aftersales departments, working with Renault as a Service Advisor I also spent sometime within warranty and assisting with workshop control, from here I moved to Audi as a Service Advisor but after sometime I decided to make a move into sales. I spent 3 years with the Nissan brand setting up a Business Centre selling to both business and fleet customers. My last position within the motor trade was working for BMW selling new and used MINI’s which was great fun!

After 8 years  within this industry I changed my career path to work within recruitment, spending 4 years specialising within the automotive industry, however with a  family background of senior transport and logistics management  I also saw the need for a reliable recruitment specialist within this sector.

Mike started his working life in the Police Force.  After 13 years and serving in Worcestershire and the Motorway group he resigned for a Sales role with Volkswagen in
Worcester.  Mike joined the BMW Marque a few months later and over the next 20 years worked his way up to General Sales Manager and responsible for Two dealerships with a volume in excess of 4,000 retail units. Mike’s last role before becoming a recruiter was as a BMW buyer for Sytner group, a job that he held for 3 years.

Mike has been married to Sally for 28 years and they have two grown up children.  In 2008 Mike and Sally relocated to Norfolk where they live in their typical Norfolk thatched cottage in the heart of the Norfolk Broads.  A place where they can enjoy their hobby of Sailing.

Mike became a recruiter for the Automotive Industry in 2008 covering Scotland and latterly the West Midlands.

“Having recuited alot of staff over the last 20 years, I understand how time consuming it can be and what a lottery it  is” says Mike.  He goes on to say ”that with the benefit of
internet the role of a recruiter has become alot faster and in some ways alot easier.  Some recruiters will just bombard Managers with CV’s without doing a sound qualififcation
beforehand.”  Mike belives in quality and not quantity, sending only suitabily qualified applicants and therefore leaving the Manager with more time to control and run their business or department.
